El Paso County's Marriage License Process

Colorado Springs offers real walk-in service, confirmed on-the-spot SSN affidavit notarization, and even Saturday hours — at one of its two branches.

El Paso County offers genuine walk-in service and confirmed on-the-spot notarization for applicants without a Social Security number, making it one of the more straightforward counties on this site. It’s also the only county here with any Saturday availability at all, though that’s limited to one of its two offices, not both.

Where to go

  • 1675 W. Garden of the Gods Road, Suite 2201, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (license issuance stops at 4 PM Fridays). No Saturday hours here. This office sits on the same road as Garden of the Gods, a few miles’ drive from the park entrance, not walking distance. Open in Google Maps (opens in a new tab)
  • 8830 N. Union Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80920. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, plus Saturday 8:00 AM–1:00 PM — the only El Paso County location open on a Saturday. Open in Google Maps (opens in a new tab)

No appointment needed, but complete the online form first

No appointment is required at either office. The county does now ask applicants to complete an online pre-application before arriving; treat that as a required step even though it isn’t an appointment. See how to fill in the license application for the general tips that apply here too.

Confirmed: on-the-spot notarization for the SSN affidavit

If you don’t have a Social Security number, El Paso County’s own page confirms the affidavit “may be signed and notarized in advance or signed in front of the Deputy County Clerk at time of application,” meaning you can handle it entirely at the counter, the same as most other Colorado counties. See the SSN affidavit, explained for the general picture. A separate absentee affidavit exists for the narrow cases where one partner qualifies to be absent entirely; see can someone else go to the appointment for who actually qualifies, since it’s a much narrower list than “couldn’t make the trip.”

What it costs

  • License fee: $30.
  • Cash or debit/credit card only. Personal checks are explicitly not accepted, unlike some other counties on this site. No card surcharge is mentioned on the county’s page.
