Where to Find a Notary in Colorado: Every UPS Store

The short version: of 110 UPS Store locations across Colorado, 107 are currently open and list notary service. None of them publish specific notary hours — UPS’s own site says availability depends on staff scheduling and recommends calling ahead. Every location below was checked individually against its own page, not assumed from a general “UPS Stores usually have notaries” pattern.

This matters for the same reason it comes up elsewhere on this site: if you don’t have a Social Security number, the marriage license application needs a notarized affidavit in its place (see the SSN affidavit, explained), and some counties don’t offer on-the-spot notarization at the clerk’s office itself.

The map

Click any pin for that location’s exact address, phone number, and general opening hours. Clay pins are UPS Store; the single green pin is the one AAA branch that actually offers it.

This reflects 110 UPS Store locations in Colorado checked directly against each store’s own page on theupsstore.com (structured business data, not just visible page text) as of 2026-08-28. 107 are open and list Notary Services; 3 (Frederick, Johnstown, and a second Denver location on S Sheridan Blvd) are listed as “Coming Soon” and excluded here since they aren’t operating yet. We also checked all 15 AAA Colorado locations directly against their own site; only the Aurora Southlands branch (inside Walmart) lists notary service. Store hours and notary staffing change; call the specific location before a trip built around getting something notarized.

AAA: one location, not the whole network

Some general AAA marketing suggests notary is a standard membership perk. In Colorado specifically, it isn’t: checking all 15 AAA Colorado locations individually turned up exactly one that lists Notary Service, at AAA Aurora Southlands, inside the Walmart at 6101 South Aurora Parkway, Aurora, CO 80016 (Mon–Fri 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, Sat 9 AM–1 PM, Sun closed). Notary there is free for AAA members and $5 for non-members. The other 14 Colorado locations don’t mention notary as a service at all, so don’t plan a trip to your nearest AAA branch expecting one unless it’s this specific location.

Banks: free, but only if you already have an account there

This is the one option on this page that doesn’t help most international couples using this site: every bank below restricts notary service to its own account holders, and opening a US account from abroad specifically to use this isn’t realistic. It’s here for the US-based partner, if one of you already banks with one of these.

Several major banks with Colorado branches offer free notary service, but every one of them gates it behind having an account there — this isn’t a public walk-in service the way UPS Store or AAA Aurora is.

• Chase — Chase’s own site says banks “may offer complimentary notary services to their customers… for instance, those who hold checking accounts,” and is explicit that “availability can differ by location” and some branches limit it to customers only. Call your specific branch before going.
• Bank of America — confirmed directly from BofA’s own site: notary is free, no fee, at “many” financial centers, with an appointment strongly recommended (about 30 minutes, book through the app or by phone).
• Wells Fargo, US Bank, and PNC — all commonly offer free notary to account holders per general banking-industry sourcing, but unlike Chase and Bank of America, none of the three publish a clear official policy page we could point to directly. Treat this as less certain than the two above, and call ahead to confirm both availability and that you’ll need to be an account holder.

If you’re picturing FirstBank as a Colorado option — it’s the state’s biggest homegrown bank name, so it’s the intuitive one to think of — know that it doesn’t exist anymore as of this writing. PNC completed its acquisition of FirstBank on 2026-01-05 and finished converting all Colorado branches (95+) to the PNC brand on 2026-06-22. Any former FirstBank branch in Colorado is now a PNC branch, subject to PNC’s notary policy above, not a separate one.

Why there’s no “notary hours” column

Every one of these 110 store pages carries the same standard disclaimer from UPS corporate: notary service depends on which staff member is scheduled that shift, not fixed hours the franchise commits to. The exact wording, present on every location we checked:

“Notary services are offered at many The UPS Store® locations, but availability may vary. Since notaries public are scheduled based on staff availability, we recommend calling ahead or making an appointment to ensure a notary is available when you visit.”

In practice: the “hours” shown for each pin above are the store’s general opening hours, useful for knowing when the location is even open, but not a promise that a notary is working that shift. Calling ahead (or booking an appointment where the location offers one) is UPS’s own recommendation, not just ours — see where to find a notary for the rest of the picture, including when a county clerk can notarize the SSN affidavit on the spot and skip this step entirely.

The takeaway

If your county clerk can’t notarize the SSN affidavit on the spot, a UPS Store is the most consistent fallback across the state — 107 confirmed locations, not just the two or three most sites mention. But “lists notary service” isn’t the same as “a notary is there right now.” Call the specific location before you go, especially if you’re building a tight schedule around a license appointment.
