Larimer County's Marriage License Process
Larimer runs three offices with three different appointment rules — Fort Collins, Loveland, and Estes Park, the branch closest to Rocky Mountain National Park.
Larimer County’s marriage licenses page covers all three of its offices, each with its own appointment rule. The Estes Park branch matters most for readers of this site: it’s the office closest to Rocky Mountain National Park, and the one many couples eloping there will actually use.

Fill out the pre-application first
Larimer’s marriage kiosk generates a transaction number to bring to whichever office you choose. Complete it online first; see how to fill in the license application for the general tips that apply here too.
If you need the SSN affidavit witnessed at Estes Park
Whether the deputy clerk processing your marriage license application at Estes Park can witness your Social Security number affidavit, the way several other counties’ clerks do as part of the application itself, isn’t confirmed either way. Call (970) 577-2025 to check before your appointment, and see where to find a notary and the SSN affidavit, explained as a backup plan if you need one.
What it costs
- License fee: $30.
- Cash, check, money order, or credit card accepted in person or by phone; card payments carry a third-party processing fee.

While you’re in Estes Park
The Estes Park branch sits near the Estes Park Events Complex and Lake Estes, which has an easy walking and biking loop with mountain views, a reasonable stop before or after your appointment and before heading into the park itself. See eloping in Rocky Mountain National Park for the ceremony-permit side of a trip built around this branch.
